How about talking/chatting (on here)?¿

It would depend on the situation. When would someone say something like this? There are things Russians say that are virtually untranslatable in English because we simply don't say the same thing in the same situation. For instance, Russians will say давай познакомимся to someone when they want to get to know them. Although this COULD potentially be translated as "Let's get to know one another," this would be a very awkward thing to say to someone on a social level, AND, in the wrong setting, it could even be misinterpreted as a sexual advance. In the English-speaking world, it's enough to extend your hand and say "Hi, I'm Uly" to make it clear that you'd like to establish an acquaintance with someone or at the very least just drum up a conversation. I have a feeling this давай пообщаемся falls into a similar category. That's why I'm wondering in what situation one would say this to someone.

Uly, I can imagine Roman use it in a situation where he wants to talk to an attractive girl he met on social media.

But wouldn’t he have “met” her already in a chat?

Yes, and I'd assume he wants to propose that they chat privately.

...which we would just say “Private chat?”

Well, I guess unless Roman deigns to clarify what he means, it's anyone's guess.

Можно ещё вопр. - "...пообщаемся на английском", нужно говорить " in English" или всё зависит от того какой глагол используется?

Добрый вечер, Роман! Если я правильно поняла Улия, он считает, что Ваша фраза в ситуации, которую Вы обозначили как 1-ая, хотя и может быть переведена, но будет звучать по крайней мере странно, а иногда может быть расценена как приставание.

Насколько мне известно, после глаголов to talk и to chat употребляют IN English. С глаголом to speak немного сложнее.

As to this post... let's say you meet someone on VK and you send each other a couple of messages. You think it'd be nice to chat with this person on skype, for example, so you send her a message saying any of the following: (1) Hey, why don't we continue our discussion on Skype? (2) What do you say we Skype? (3) Would you like to skype? (4) Hey, are you on skype (by any chance)? (5) Shall we skype sometime? (6) Do you do skype?

None of these would sound creepy)))

The reason I don't like Sveta's translation is that you're already CHATTING, so it doesn't make sense to suggest "let's chat."
