I can’t make heads or tails of this
Это старый английский - видите: wast, etc. 😁
😂
Answering another questioneth one yond strictly speaking wasn't hath asked although I feeleth liketh an answer couldst beest useful as it wast in England during yond era.
And what on earth is that? It’s not English...
This is from the diaries of the captain who rode to the shores of India in the 17th century. An excerpt from the original language, just wondering if you understand?
questioneth - archaic (third-person singular simple present indicative form of question)
hath - archaic (have)
I know old English and this is nonsense. Either this person was illiterate, or this is a joke. “Although I feeleth liketh an answer couldst beest” is utter nonsense. This is the way people write in jest when they want their writing to sound old. If you look at these sites, all of them are in jest:
Although “As it was in English during yond era” is correct and possible.
But WAST means “you were” so it doesn’t fit here.
