ROUND BODY = in the shape of a ball. This is called a redundancy and is an example of atrocious English.
The example in question has been taken from the original site created by native anglophones.
Not only EQUIDISTANT FROM, but also EQUALLY DISTANT FROM - more than 300,000 references in Google.
Perfect proof that being a native doesn’t necessarily qualify you to represent your language if you don’t know it. Illiterate people abound in every country. I’m sure that “round object in the shape of a ball” would be just as redundant and awkward in Russian!
EQUALLY DISTANT FROM is used by people who lack the intellect/vocabulary to avail themselves of EQUIDISTANT. You’re welcome for the free English lesson 😉
