Wouldn’t let me это больше «они не давали мне смотреть» а если в контексте, что, например, шумели (не специально) и было плохо слышно
Because they were noisy, I couldn't watch the movie.
They kept me from watching the movie - натуральнее некуда.
If we were watching a movie and kids were making noise, for example, we would say “they’re not letting me watch the movie.“ or “I can’t watch the movie because of these kids.“ The verbs “hinder“ and “prevent“ are much too extreme for this situation. “Keep from“ would be used if somebody didn’t want you to see the movie for some reason and did everything in their power to stop you.
