Irina, if you’re saying this after the fact, the past simple is used to correctly express that you stopped waiting. Furthermore, if an anticipated action didn’t occur, we use NEVER to negate it in the past.
мы ждали ,но ты не пришел
we waited for you, but you never came
we have waited you, but you haven't came.
