I’ve been wondering all day what it was like for you on that cruise

WHAT IT WAS LIKE FOR... doesn’t ask for someone’s opinion of something, but rather an account of what the experience was like for them - especially if it was a bad one: “I can’t imagine what it must have been like for you in prison as an innocent man surrounded by hardened criminals 24/7.”
OK, исправлю.
What I wasn't sure about is whether this sounded like
- he was wondering while she were on the cruise (my version - как ты там)
OR
- some old cruise that he didn't new about before and now wants to know what it was like?
This was definitely AFTER they were on the cruise and the speaker is asking for an account of what the experience was like for them.
+++Grumbler - good one)))
Исправил. Не очень понятно, почему только "all day" при том, что она была "surrounded by water so long", т.е. это был длинный круиз.
МАМЕ-то весь день было интересно, как дочь прошла круиз
My point was that if it was a long cruise she should have been wondering during the cruise as well, not only the last day.
The only explanation I see is that she was told about the cruise a day ago and didn't have an opportunity to ask about it yet.
It sounds to me like for some reason, it was on her mind since that morning because that’s the day the daughter was coming home.
