How to translate? (ru-en)

(can I use past perfect continous in the second part? If yes, how can I translate the first part?)

User translations (2)

  1. 1.

I, like every other kid, believed in Santa until I was six.

Alexander Аkimovadded a comment 6 years ago

Past Perfect Continuous?

Elena Bogomolovaadded a comment 6 years ago

Александр, мне кажется before I turned 6 или before I was 6,

Alexander Аkimovadded a comment 6 years ago

Now, let's call it a day, I’m off 👋

Значит - Before I turned 6, I, like every other child, had been believing(или со "state verb" нельзя употреблять?) in Santa - не правильно?

"had been believing" можно сказать если кто-то постоянно лгал вам В ТЕЧЕНИЕ ОПРЕДЕЛЕННОГО ВРЕМЕНИ, и вы каждый раз поверили ему, а потом понали, что все было ложью: "After my husband died, it came out that he had had an ongoing affair with a woman who lived in New York. Every week, he would find an excuse to leave town - a business trip, a convention, a golf tournament... and for ten years I had been believing his lies and supporting him in every way." WANT: I was wanting something sweet, so I sent my son to the store for ice-cream. FEEL: I'm feeling kind of adventurous - let's go out for Korean! SEE: I'm seeing another side of you I never saw before. ASSUME: I'm assuming you don't speak Russian, so I've taken the liberty of hiring an interpreter. BELIEVE: If you accept his excuse, you're believing something that everybody else knows to be completely untrue.

DOUBT: I'm not doubting you - I just question everything; that's my personality. FIND: (считать) I normally enjoy spicy food, but I'm finding this dish a little too spicy - my mouth is on fire. FORGET: I love that you drew me a map so I could find the café you work at. You're forgetting that I lived here for ten years before moving to the States. And the list goes on....
