How to translate? (en-ru)

The children got ready in short order to go to the mall.

Usually we use IN SHORT ORDER to express that something is done quickly in response to an impetus: “When we told the kids that Santa Claus was at the mall, they got dressed in short order to go.” In other words, they would normally take their time or not want to go, but when they heard about Santa, they moved their little asses.

stimulus (sharp stick for making animals move) > impetus (rapid movement, rush)

Igor, get an avatar - it’s disconcerting to see your name without an image🙃

Igor, get an avatar

I wanted to get lost among others... 😎
With the new avatar, I look just like in real life.

Who could think that "avatar" (the 2nd part) and "through" are relatives to some extent?! Both come from PIE tere- "through".

Very interesting!

I just learned that Eng. FROG, Sp. BRINCar (прыгать) and Rus. ПРЫГать all come from the same PIE root.
