Tatiana, a BREAK in this context is the chance you've been waiting for. You have the talent, but so far nobody has given you a chance to show what you (or your company) can do. Then somebody decides to give you a shot, which, if you succeed, will lead to other people giving you a shot - you just need that initial BREAK. I think it should be шанс or прорыв, from what I've seen online.
Getting that big contract was a real break.

Шанс/прорыв - that's exactly what I saw too, but I couldnt put them in this very context. Удача seemed to be the one that suits in this sentence more or less nicely.
¿How about something to the effect that получение такого важного договора несомненно откроет для меня много двери в будущем (because that’s basically what this means)
«Такой важный договор несомненно откроет для меня большие возможности в будущем» would sound perfect. But why the past became откроет? I'm looking for a gun already. 🔫 Получение ... откроет would be redundant and договор откроет implies a prospect of getting a contract. Откроет двери is a wonderful phrase for that situation though I can't think of any intensifier like real that would work here.
Hahahahaha The contract was already gotten, so the past reference is inevitable, but this is actually a statement about the future prospects that will result from that act.
Thank you for editing my sentence.
It's always my pleasure, Uly! ;)

And how very interesting! BTW, договор откроет works no matter it was already gotten or is yet in prospect.
Aha! Good to know
👍
Uly, Tatiana: many thanks.
