Аlexander, isn't your translation a bit too literal? I don't think some hard work is meant here, it's more of unwillingness to do something.

И шо? А Ваш вариант?

Того, что я накопала, похоже на то, что у PB.😑

guys l m little bit lost here. ..in which situations may l use it?

Alexander Аkimovadded a comment 7 лет назад

I’m A little bit lost here.. in WHAT situations CAN I use it?

I think you should know better since you are the one who has the context at hand.
If you tell us what situation the phrase is supposed to be used, it will be clearer to us how to translate it. To get tense for example is used when someone is driving a car. tense is opposite to relax...

Вчера такой классный концерт был! А ты почему не пошёл?
Просто не хотел напрягаться.
(I was too lazy to go there.)

Thank you very much Tatiana. .and Alexander. .l ve been speaking this bloody langauge over 29 years. .l might have missed an "a" in front of "little"..l didnt pay attention to it. .by the way "which" sounds better than "what"...if you want to use "what", you should know that it changes the meaning totally ))for further information you can check it out on Cambridge dictionary

You're very welcome, Dave! I didn't pay attention to it either. It's Alexander who's being pernickety. 😁Thanks for your explanation!

Hi David, I thought that was a Russian speaker nicknamed David Webb 🤩
As far as I understand, which is used when there’s a limited set of things to chose from... I think I didn’t catch what you meant by ‘in which situations you can use the phrase’. Anyway, I’ll check on this once again.
Thank you, Alex
