Tatiana, ONCE puts too much emphasis on finishing the first action. It sounds like как только ты закончишь... In this type of statement, you can say “One look at him the wrong way and he...” -or- “You just look at him the wrong way and...”

Al, that doesn’t quite say it. We don’t look at people cross-eyed, we ARE cross-eyed. plus, when you look at someone and you’re cross-eyed, you look at them full on. The meaning of this post is that you can’t even look at someone sideways without them getting upset.
