I know it was the last thing we paid attention to in the university:( My teachers were more focused on the quality of the translation, spelling and pronunciation

Other than that it's perfect. Stylistically, I would make one small recommendation (aside from the comma) and that is that if you're going to contract "was not," you should also contract "would be." It's just more natural.
